Ingham County Clerk and election coalition confirm secure results and ongoing certification

Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum and the nonpartisan Michigan Election Protection Program reported that the state’s election system delivered accurate results, thanking poll workers, challengers, and volunteers for their contributions. The coalition, which includes more than 100 pro-voter organizations, stated it is currently working to ensure County Boards of Canvassers across Michigan certify the election as required by the state constitution.

Byrum noted that her team and the community worked to ensure the election ran smoothly and adhered to the letter of the law. EPP co-leaders Jessica Ayoub and Lynna Kaucheck emphasized that while ballots have been cast, the counting and certification process remains ongoing, with the coalition continuing its year-round protection work as it prepares for the 2028 election cycle.
