Three juveniles arrested after handgun threat near Waverly schools

Eaton County deputies arrested three juvenile suspects after they were reported threatening another person with a handgun on a moped in Delta Township. The incident occurred in the 5600 block of W. Saginaw Highway on Friday afternoon, prompting a significant police response in the area.

Waverly Community Schools entered a precautionary lockdown as deputies located the suspects near Snow Road and Michigan Avenue. Although the district was already closed due to a Boil Water Advisory, the lockdown ensured safety while officers established a perimeter near Waverly Road and St. Joseph Highway.

Assisted by a K-9 unit and multiple law enforcement agencies, deputies detained all three juveniles. Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public, and the case has been referred to the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau for further investigation.
