Hunter Biden says father’s cancer has spread, causing pain

Hunter Biden said in an interview broadcast Friday that his father's prostate cancer has spread into his bones and beyond, causing significant pain. He described the situation as difficult to watch, saying, "The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further. It's very painful and it's very debilitating in many respects."

Joe Biden, 83, disclosed his prostate cancer diagnosis in May of last year, less than four months after leaving the White House. He was the oldest person to serve as U.S. president, and questions about his age and health persisted through much of his term, intensifying after he abandoned his re-election bid following a widely criticized debate performance.

Hunter Biden said his father continues to speak publicly on issues important to him despite his illness. He also addressed the pardon his father granted him before leaving office, saying he was grateful for it even as he acknowledged it drew fair criticism and was not good for his father's legacy.

The former president is set to publish a memoir, Promise Me, America, after the midterm elections.
