LIV Golf’s planned Michigan team finale is off, TV host says

LIV Golf’s season-ending team championship planned for The Cardinal in Plymouth Township later this month will not happen, television host Craig Doyle said during a Sunday broadcast.

The tournament had been scheduled for Aug. 27-30 at Saint John’s Resort, where LIV Golf held its 2025 team championship. Doyle said the Indianapolis tournament set for Aug. 20-23 is expected to be the tour’s final event of 2026.

The Michigan event had shown signs of trouble, including no infrastructure buildout at the course. Tickets were still being sold on LIV Golf’s website Sunday evening, though the Michigan TV schedule was no longer listed.

LIV Golf had no official comment as of Sunday night, and Saint John’s Resort officials have declined comment on the tournament’s status.
