Supreme Court rejects Trump’s renewed appeal of Carroll award
The Supreme Court on Monday declined President Donald Trump’s request to overturn a jury verdict that awarded writer E. Jean Carroll $5 million and found him liable for sexual abuse and defamation.
The justices had rejected Trump’s initial appeal in June. Trump has denied wrongdoing and said he does not know Carroll.
A separate Supreme Court appeal involves an $83 million judgment Carroll won in another defamation case. The court is expected to act on that appeal later this year.
