White House war videos mix combat footage with movie and game clips

The White House posted videos combining real footage of strikes in Iran with scenes from movies, anime and video games. Some clips used gaming references such as “wasted” and “flawless victory” over images of explosions and military strikes.

The posts came as six American service members had been killed in the war. Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth, an Iraq war veteran wounded in combat, criticized the videos, saying war is not a video game.

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly defended the posts, saying they highlighted U.S. military successes and the destruction of Iranian military and nuclear-related capabilities. President Donald Trump said more American casualties were likely before the conflict ended.
