Man convicted in 2023 Lansing abduction and killing

Jacobo Montalvo, 60, was convicted Tuesday of first-degree murder and unlawful imprisonment in the killing of Alicia Gallegos, 29, of Lansing, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina confirmed Wednesday.

Prosecutors said Gallegos was abducted near a downtown transit station in October 2023 before she was found strangled on a rural road in eastern Ingham County. Montalvo is being held without bond pending sentencing Oct. 14.
