Lansing attorney suspended for 180 days after Drunk Driving conviction
The Michigan Attorney Discipline Board announced on October 1 that Brittany A. Campbell, a litigation attorney based in Lansing, has been suspended from practicing law for 180 days, effective September 30, 2026. The suspension follows a guilty plea entered on July 9, 2025, for operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content, a misdemeanor under Michigan law.
The disciplinary case, titled In the Matter of Brittany A. Campbell, was initiated by the Grievance Administrator after Campbell failed to notify the Attorney Discipline Board and the Attorney Grievance Commission of her conviction as required. She did not file an answer to the formal complaint, leading the Grievance Administrator to enter her default on April 7, 2026.
Ingham County Hearing Panel #4 concluded that Campbell committed professional misconduct by violating multiple Michigan Court Rules and Rules of Professional Conduct. The panel assessed costs of $1,871.21 and noted that Campbell had been placed on interim suspension effective June 24, 2026, after failing to appear at a subsequent hearing.
