AG candidate Doug Lloyd’s record on sexual assault cases reviewed
Lansing — Recent reporting highlights renewed national conversations about sexual assault on college campuses, and Michigan voters should know about Attorney General Doug Lloyd’s record on this issue.
The Detroit Metro Times reported that AG candidate Doug Lloyd has a problematic history with cases involving sexual assault, child exploitation, and domestic violence. One case involved an 18‑year‑old woman who reported she was “forcibly held down and sexually assaulted outside a fraternity party.” Lloyd’s office records described the victim’s memory as “sketchy” and noted that Lloyd did not pursue the case.
“Doug Lloyd has repeatedly refused to prosecute predators, putting Michiganders at risk,” said Leah Leszczynski, spokesperson for the Michigan Democratic Party. “The people of Michigan deserve an Attorney General who will protect them from predators and fight for justice. Lloyd’s record proves that he clearly isn’t up to the task.”
