House passes stopgap funding bill to avert shutdown through Dec. 11

The House voted 370-48 to pass a Senate-amended continuing resolution that extends federal government funding at fiscal 2026 levels through Dec. 11. Four of Oklahoma’s five House members supported the measure, while Rep. Josh Brecheen opposed it.

The bill also extends surface transportation authorization. Lawmakers said the additional time will allow Congress to continue work on annual spending bills while avoiding another government shutdown before the midterm elections.
