Inalfa to close both Auburn Hills plants in December
Inalfa Roof Systems is laying off 142 employees at two Auburn Hills locations, with both sites scheduled to close on December 14, according to a notice filed under the Michigan Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
The company will permanently lay off staff at its 815 Opdyke Road facility and close its 1370 Pacific Drive site. Inalfa, which designs and manufactures automotive roof systems such as sunroofs and convertible tops, operates 16 locations globally and services more than 40 vehicle brands.
The Michigan closures follow a 40% workforce reduction in Georgia earlier this year after the company closed two locations there. Inalfa maintains facilities in the Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea, and China.
