Ingham County marks first year of down payment assistance program

Ingham County officials celebrated the first anniversary of the county’s down payment assistance program, highlighting its role in making homeownership more accessible for income-qualified and first-generation buyers.

The program provides up to $30,000 in zero-interest assistance, currently limited to county-supported properties such as the Hickory Pointe Row Houses developed by the Ingham County Land Bank.

State Senator Sarah Anthony also announced an additional $1.5 million State of Michigan Legislative Enhancement Grant to expand the Ingham County Housing Trust Fund and support generational wealth-building in the community.
