MVAA veteran-friendly schools program enrolls record 73 institutions for 2026-27

The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency’s Veteran‑Friendly Schools (VFS) program has added a record 73 universities, colleges, trade schools and apprenticeship programs for the 2026‑2027 academic year, and all 2025‑2026 participants have re‑applied, giving the program a 100‑percent retention rate.

Program awards Gold, Silver or Bronze status to institutions that demonstrate exceptional dedication to veterans, with services such as resource centers, academic advising, peer‑to‑peer mentoring and career readiness initiatives.

The growth reflects a statewide commitment to making Michigan a veteran‑friendly state, and the full list of recognized institutions is available on the VFS Dashboard.
