New bluegrass and metal festival set for Ionia County Fairgrounds

A new music festival is scheduled for Aug. 28-29 at the Ionia County Fairgrounds, with organizers expecting more than 27,000 attendees. The sold-out event will feature bluegrass acts including Billy Strings, Greensky Bluegrass, Leftover Salmon, Sierra Hull and others.

A separate local bluegrass event is planned at Ionia’s farmers’ market pavilion on the Thursday before the festival, with vendors on Main Street. The roundup also notes that the larger festival will include a heavy metal tent and performances by several metal bands.
