Old Town’s JazzFest expands to five days this year

Lansing's Old Town neighborhood is hosting JazzFest through the weekend, with the festival expanded to five days for the first time. The event began Wednesday and continues through Sunday afternoon.

Organizers say performances will take place on multiple stages, including the newly renovated Fish Ladder Amphitheatre, featuring jazz musicians from around the country. A full performer lineup is posted online at micharts.org.

Two streets near the festival grounds will close starting Friday at 6 a.m. through Sunday afternoon because of foot traffic and stage setups: Turner Street between Cesar E Chavez Avenue and Dodge River Drive, and Clinton Street from Turner Street to Center Street.

The festival resumes Thursday afternoon and is open to all ages. Tickets are available online or at the gate, though organizers say they are selling quickly.
