Pakistan places Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under direct federal control

Pakistan has placed the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under direct federal control by imposing emergency and governor's rule on October 11.

The move effectively suspends the regional administration led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, which is headed by imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan.
