Power outage halts activities at Michigan State University campus

A widespread power outage halted many campus activities Saturday night at Michigan State University, with the cause identified by the university on X.

MSU’s Student Union closed at 8 p.m. To preserve generator resources, while the Department of Police and Public Safety warned that green phones May not work and to call 911 on a different device for emergencies.

Several events were delayed or canceled, including the MSU volleyball game against Wright State, a Beetlejuice performance at the Wharton Center, and a celebration at the Kellogg Center. Details are limited at this time, but updates will be posted as the situation develops.
