Six dead in Northern Michigan shooting, manhunt near Cadillac

Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting in Lake City, northeast of Cadillac, that left six people dead, including the suspected shooter, authorities said Friday.

The incident began as a manhunt Friday morning after police were called to a shooting scene in Lake City, where three people were found dead and a fourth was taken to the hospital, according to WWJ Newsradio 950 in Detroit. The search for the suspect led investigators to another scene where an additional victim was found dead.

Troopers later located the suspect's vehicle, where the suspect and another person were found dead. The ages of the victims have not been released.

A Michigan State Police Seventh District spokesperson said further details would be released later. The investigation remains ongoing.
