Three hospitalized after two-vehicle crash in Conway Township

Three people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Conway Township.

Livingston County sheriff’s deputies were called shortly after 12:30 p.m. to Fowlerville Road and Chase Lake Road. Investigators said a 22-year-old Howell woman driving a 2014 Kia Forte west on Chase Lake Road failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by a northbound 2015 Dodge Ram pickup pulling a horse trailer.

The Kia driver was taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing in serious condition. The Dodge driver, a 57-year-old Howell man, was taken there in stable condition, and a 66-year-old Fowlerville passenger sought medical treatment on his own.

Authorities said all three people wore seat belts, and speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors. The horse had minor injuries, and the road was closed for about three hours during the investigation and cleanup.
