Trump signs new executive actions targeting birthright citizenship
President Donald Trump said Thursday he is making a new attempt to limit birthright citizenship, months after the Supreme Court rejected his first effort to restrict the practice.
Trump said he was signing two executive actions on immigration. One would limit the number of people eligible for U.S. citizenship after being born in the United States, while the other is aimed at stopping people from traveling to the U.S. to give birth.
The move signals Trump remains committed to curbing birthright citizenship despite the earlier Supreme Court setback.
