Turkey’s inflation eases for a third straight month

Annual inflation in Turkey eased to 31.51% in August from 31.75% in July, while consumer prices rose 1.84% month over month, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.

The economy grew 2.3% year over year in the second quarter, slowing from 2.5% in the prior quarter and falling short of the government’s 3.8% growth target for 2026. Officials are preparing a three-year economic program and the 2027 central government budget for release in September.
