Vendor error prompts replacement cards for 8,200 Michigan residents

About 8,200 Michigan residents who applied for or renewed an enhanced driver’s license or state ID received misprinted cards from an Aug. 26 batch, the Secretary of State’s Office said. The cards displayed a stock photo and a generic date of birth instead of the cardholder’s information.

Corrected licenses and IDs are already in the mail, and recipients will receive them automatically. Unexpired cards remain valid for travel; temporary documents are available online or at a state office.
