Wayne County soccer club shuts down after coach suspension

Chaos Soccer, a Wayne County club, has ceased operations and is shutting down following the suspension of head coach Kyle Lesperance, according to sources. Lesperance and his wife, who served as the club's tournament representative, have stepped down from their positions, and no family members plan to remain involved.

The U.S. Center for SafeSport listed Lesperance's suspension on October 22, 2026, for coaching outdoor soccer. The suspension stems from an alleged texting relationship with a minor, which the coaches described in a letter to parents as a communication-policy violation. Lesperance remains eligible to coach indoor soccer and attend games while the suspension is subject to appeal.

Lesperance was previously investigated in Brownstown Township in 2025, but prosecutors denied charges. Grosse Ile Township Schools also stated in January 2025 that it was aware of allegations involving a club coach and a non-student player, noting the individual resigned before the school became aware of the claims.
