Whitmer appoints Eight Farm Bureau members to state agricultural committees

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the appointment of eight local Farm Bureau members to state agricultural committees, expanding representation across Michigan’s dairy, wheat, corn, and farmland preservation sectors.

The appointments include Jeremy Beebe of Ogemaw County, who will serve on the Michigan Dairy Market Program Committee through December 2029; Carla Schultz of Tuscola County, who will represent District 5 growers on the Michigan Wheat Promotion Committee; Matthew Holysz of Kalamazoo County, who will represent District 1 growers on the Michigan Corn Marketing Program Committee; David Rupprecht of Tuscola County, who will represent District 7 growers on the same committee; Stephanie Smith of Waldron, who will represent District 2 growers on the Agricultural Preservation Fund Board; Gwyn Atkinson‑Lewis of St. Clair County, who will represent agricultural interests on the Agricultural Preservation Fund Board; Brian Bourdages of Kalamazoo, who will serve on the Agricultural Preservation Fund Board; and Mark Zacharda of Owosso, who will serve at‑large on the Agricultural Preservation Fund Board.

All appointments were submitted by the Michigan Milk Producers Association, the United Dairy Industry of Michigan, the United Wheat Industry of Michigan, the United Corn Industry of Michigan, and the Michigan Farmland Trust, ensuring a comprehensive representation of Michigan’s agricultural interests through 2029.
