Medicaid fraud case bound over for trial in Ingham County court

A Mount Pleasant woman accused of Medicaid fraud has been bound over for trial in Ingham County’s 30th Circuit Court, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said.

Claudia Payne, 47, faces five counts of Medicaid fraud. Each count carries a maximum sentence of four years. No pretrial date has been set.

Investigators allege Payne was paid by Medicaid to care for an elderly disabled man between October 2023 and November 2024 but did not provide the services, leaving him severely neglected.
