Burnham exchanged messages with person posing as White House aide
Prime Minister Andy Burnham exchanged messages with a person posing as Susie Wiles, chief of staff to US President Donald Trump.
Downing Street declined to comment, and a government spokesperson said officials do not comment on national security matters. Sources said only a few messages were exchanged, no conversation took place, and the texts were reported to authorities after they appeared suspicious.
The incident follows previously reported impersonation attempts involving Wiles’ personal phone contacts and past hoaxes targeting senior UK officials.
