Stock futures mixed as markets await retail earnings and Fed minutes
U.S. stock futures traded mixed late Sunday ahead of quarterly results from major retailers and the release of the Federal Reserve’s July meeting minutes.
Dow futures were down 0.09% at 9:33 p.m. EDT, while S&P 500 futures rose 0.09% and Nasdaq-100 futures gained 0.25%. On Friday, the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.28%, the Dow slipped 0.20% and the S&P 500 declined 0.17%.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq entered the week after three straight weekly gains, with the S&P 500 recently reaching record highs. Home Depot is expected to report Tuesday, Target Wednesday and Walmart Thursday.
Markets also watched lower expectations for a September Fed rate hike after July producer prices came in flat and consumer prices rose 0.1% month over month. Brent and WTI crude futures were trading slightly lower amid continued U.S.-Iran tensions.
