Ingham County to add 23 recovery beds with state funding
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is expanding recovery housing across the state using funds from national opioid settlements, with Ingham County set to receive enough money for 23 new beds. This allocation is the second-highest in the state, behind Wayne County, which will receive funding for 27 beds.
The new beds in Ingham County will be added to the Pinnacle Recovery Group facility on West Saginaw Street in Lansing. The expansion is expected to nearly double the facility's total capacity to roughly 50 beds, with the new spaces expected to be in service sometime next year.
State officials say the investment addresses a significant gap in substance abuse treatment, noting that over 7,000 people were leaving publicly funded treatment unhoused in 2024. The state is investing more than $3 million into recovery housing, adding over 200 beds across 18 agencies in 14 counties.
