Meghan Markle’s father investigated for child abuse material

Thomas Markle, the father of Meghan Markle, is under investigation in the Philippines for the alleged possession of child sexual abuse material. His son, Thomas Markle Jr., reported finding hundreds or thousands of such images in boxes at his father's home.

Meghan Markle released a statement saying she was deeply distressed by the allegations and had previously kept her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, away from her father to protect them. She expressed hope that justice would be fully served and that the safety of children would remain the priority.

Markle, 82, denied the allegations, calling them sick lies and the worst accusation anyone could make. The Philippines' Justice Department confirmed on Friday that the matter is under investigation but declined to provide further details.
