Aldi Cuts US grocery prices for autumn amid inflation

Aldi announced on Wednesday that it will lower prices on a range of grocery items in the US this autumn, a move that is expected to save shoppers about $86 million.

The price reductions will be effective from 23 September until at least 3 November at all Aldi stores in the US, and include Autumncrisp grapes, Bartlett pears, Brussels sprout, and a wide range of apples and potatoes.

The announcement comes as US grocery retailers compete aggressively for value‑seeking shoppers who remain selective about spending as they grapple with higher gas prices and economic uncertainty, with larger peers such as Kroger and Walmart keeping their prices low to win over cost‑conscious shoppers.
