Arpit Saxina arrested on criminal sexual conduct charges in Lansing
Former resident physician Arpit Saxina was arrested on Thursday night at Hartsfield‑Jackson Atlanta International Airport and charged with criminal sexual conduct. MSU Police Chief Mike Yankowski announced the arrest during a press conference on Friday, noting that Saxina is currently held in the Clayton County Jail in Georgia and has not yet been arraigned.
The investigation, which began on April 3, 2025, identified at least two victims and may involve more. Authorities are encouraging other potential victims to contact the MSU Police Department at 844‑99‑MSUPD or via email at [email protected]. The case was forwarded to the special victims crime unit for review and further investigation.
MSU Police completed the investigation on August 28, 2025, filed a warrant request the same day, and authorized the warrants shortly thereafter. The department is now contacting all patients who were seen by Saxina and will continue to provide updates as the case progresses.
