Bealls Opens new store in Charlotte, Michigan

A Florida‑based off‑price retailer signed a lease for 18,451 square feet at Charlotte Exchange, 1658 Lansing Road, in Charlotte, Michigan. Bealls is slated to open the new store between Oct. 23 and 25, as part of the company’s broader push into the state this fall.

The Charlotte location marks the 23rd state for Bealls Inc., which plans to open 25 new stores across 12 states in fall 2026 and spring 2027. In addition to Charlotte, the retailer has scheduled openings in Owosso, Coldwater, and Sturgis in fall 2026, with further expansion into Niles and Clio in spring 2027. The company also expanded its New York City Garment District buying office from 2,900 to 3,900 square feet in 2026, strengthening vendor relations and inventory sourcing for the expanding footprint.

Bealls began its Michigan expansion in August, hiring management for a store in Coldwater that occupies a former Dunham’s Sports building on East Chicago Street. The new Charlotte store will add a Bealls presence to Eaton County, bringing the retailer’s 110‑year legacy—rooted in a 1915 opening in Bradenton, Florida—to the region. With more than 14,000 associates and distribution centers in Florida and Texas, the company reported $1.93 billion in revenue in 2024, according to Bradenton Magazine.
