Bruce Campbell to open final East Lansing Film Festival

Actor Bruce Campbell will appear at the Hannah Community Center in East Lansing on Thursday, October 22, to open the 29th and final edition of the East Lansing Film Festival. The Michigan native, best known for his role in the “Evil Dead” franchise, will introduce his newest film, “Ernie & Emma,” at a 7 p.m. Screening.

The festival, founded by Susan Woods, is concluding after nearly three decades of showcasing independent, documentary, and international films. This year’s lineup includes seven full-length films and 37 shorts, with main screenings running from October 22 to 25 at the Hannah Community Center on Abbot Road.

The event marks the festival’s return to East Lansing after spending approximately ten years at Studio C in Okemos. Tickets for Campbell’s opening-night screening are priced at $15, with a student rate of $8 for those presenting a valid ID.
