ZOA president criticizes Democrats for failing to condemn antisemitic lawmakers
Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, accused Democratic leaders of failing to vigorously condemn prominent members of their party for what he described as vicious antisemitism. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Klein specifically cited Representative Ilhan Omar, Representative Rashida Tlaib, Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as leaders who have not faced sufficient censure from the party.
Klein argued that anti-Israel rhetoric has moved from the political fringe into elected office, noting that El-Sayed stated during a Michigan Senate debate that Israel is as dangerous to the United States as Iran. He criticized Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senator Elissa Slotkin, and Attorney General Dana Nessel for endorsing El-Sayed, calling the lack of condemnation from Jewish Democratic leaders disgraceful.
The ZOA president also addressed the upcoming Israeli elections, warning that the next government must respond with overwhelming force to terrorism. He stated that the Hamas charter explicitly calls for the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews, a stance he said has been ignored by both American and Israeli leadership in favor of appeasement.
