Cameco says uranium market strengthened in first half of 2026

Cameco said it remained on track with its expectations for 2026 after reporting second-quarter and first-half results.

Management said global support for nuclear energy has become more tangible as governments, utilities, energy-intensive industries and the public focus on energy security, economic competitiveness and decarbonization.

The company said long-term uranium prices reached decade highs in the first half of the year, with increased contracting activity and stronger customer focus on security of supply.

Cameco said its strategy includes uranium assets, fuel services, investments in Westinghouse and global laser enrichment, along with long-term customer relationships.
