Deluzio backs expanding and reforming the Supreme Court

Rep. Chris Deluzio, a Pennsylvania Democrat, said he supports legislation to add Supreme Court justices and stagger their terms. He also backed mandatory ethics rules, gift disclosures and an enforceable code of conduct for the justices.

Deluzio said the reforms could be enacted without a constitutional amendment and argued they could improve declining public confidence in the judiciary. Several other prominent Democrats considering 2028 presidential bids have also supported proposals to expand or reform the court.
