East Lansing seeks firm for city manager search

East Lansing began the search for a permanent city manager by seeking proposals from executive recruiting firms. The selected firm will conduct a national search, evaluate candidates and recommend finalists to the City Council.

Proposals are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 13. The council appointed former Planning, Building and Housing Director Annette Irwin as interim city manager on June 16, 2026.
