Eaton County prosecutor joins Michigan attorney general race

Doug Lloyd, the Eaton County prosecutor, is running for Michigan attorney general in the November 3 election, challenging Democratic nominee Eli Savit, the Washtenaw County prosecutor. Lloyd has pledged to prosecute criminals fairly without political bias and to fight corruption and what he calls weaponized prosecutions.

Savit, the top prosecutor in Washtenaw County, has focused his campaign on preventing crime as well as punishing it, with a specific emphasis on protecting women from sexual abuse and human trafficking.
