Spare Time lanes to debut at Okemos skating rink

The former Spare Time bowling alley in Lansing will not reopen, but its wooden lanes have been repurposed for a new skating rink at the High Caliber Karting & Entertainment complex in Okemos. The building closed in April 2025 after a fire and recently changed its exterior sign from temporarily closed to permanently closed.

High Caliber officials announced the plans on Monday, noting that the rink will occupy the space formerly used by throw bowling and across from the axe throwing area. The company also acquired some of the lighting from the former bowling alley for the new installation.
