Eaton prosecutor teams with Macomb clerk in statewide Republican campaigns

Eaton County Prosecutor Doug Lloyd and Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini have formed a campaign partnership after meeting at a small Lansing-area event about nine months ago, according to the candidates’ accounts.

Lloyd, the Republican nominee for attorney general, emphasized support for the rule of law and opposition to cashless bail and decriminalization. Forlini, the party’s nominee for secretary of state, focused on voter identification and efficient use of taxpayer money.

The two candidates have campaigned together while presenting themselves as less ideological and more focused on their current public-service experience.
