Eli Savit wins Michigan attorney general race against Eaton County Prosecutor

Eli Savit, the Washtenaw County prosecutor, has won the race for Michigan attorney general, defeating Republican nominee Doug Lloyd, the Eaton County prosecutor. The Associated Press called the race at 2:28 a.m. Wednesday, with Savit leading by a margin of 51.8 percent to 45.5 percent.

The Associated Press made the call with more than 84 percent of the vote counted. Savit, a Democrat, secured the victory over Lloyd, who represented the Republican Party in the contest for the state's top legal office.
