Emily Randall wins reelection in Washington’s 6th District

Democratic Representative Emily Randall defeated Republican Teresa Fox to win reelection in Washington’s 6th Congressional District, securing a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Decision Desk HQ called the race at 11 p.m. Eastern time on November 3, based on the projected vote.

Randall first won the seat in November 2024, succeeding retiring Representative Derek Kilmer. Her initial election marked several milestones, making her the first openly LGBTQ+ Latina to serve in Congress and the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to represent Washington State in the federal legislature.

During her first term, Randall advocated for healthcare access, reproductive rights, and economic opportunity. She also defended trans rights in the House, placing an all-gender restroom sign outside her office in January 2025 in response to new congressional rules restricting restroom use by birth-assigned gender.
