Ingham County voters approve public safety and parks funding
Voters across Ingham County approved multiple local millages on Tuesday to fund public safety, parks, and essential city services, while rejecting a street improvement proposal in Leslie. Unofficial results indicate strong support for these measures in Lansing, Meridian Township, and Delhi Township.
Lansing voters approved a proposal to restore the city's essential services millage to approximately 20 mills for five years, beginning in 2027. The measure, which passed with about 62% support, is expected to generate $2.6 million in its first year to support police, fire, and road maintenance.
In Meridian Township, voters renewed a parks millage and a police and fire protection millage with support of roughly 77% and 79%, respectively. Delhi Township voters also approved fire protection and law enforcement millage renewals, with the latter expected to generate $1.7 million in its first year.
