Howell man arraigned for alleged threat against judge
On Wednesday, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that Kyle Fawaz, 31, was arraigned in the 53rd District Court on charges of terroristic threat and use of a computer to commit a crime, both 20‑year felonies, and malicious use of telecommunications services, a six‑month misdemeanor.
Prosecutors allege Fawaz sent text messages to his probation officer in August stating his intent to kill a specific judge and that he possessed large quantities of chemicals that could be used to make a bomb. The judge had presided over a prior criminal case involving Fawaz, and the AG’s Hate Crimes and Domestic Terrorism Unit is pursuing the case. Nessel urged residents to report threats and suspicious activity to local law enforcement and the unit.
