Johnson and Barrett rally in Mason to boost 7th district campaign
On Wednesday, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson and Rep. Tom Barrett held a campaign stop in Mason, outside the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department, to support Barrett’s reelection in Michigan’s 7th Congressional District.
The event drew endorsements from the Police Officers Association of Michigan and the Fraternal Order of Police, and included remarks from local officials such as POAM President Jim Tignanelli, FOP President Michael Sauger, Livingston County Sheriff Mike Murphy, Clinton County Prosecutor Tony Spagnuolo, Shiawassee County Prosecutor Scott Koerner, and former Eaton County Sheriff Rick Jones.
Johnson highlighted Barrett’s record on public safety and his support for federal funding, while stressing the importance of ending the Iran war and securing local community funds, urging voters to choose a candidate who delivers on law enforcement and public safety.
