Judge blocks Trump’s latest birthright citizenship order

A federal judge has blocked President Donald Trump’s latest effort to restrict birthright citizenship, issuing a preliminary injunction against enforcement of the executive order.

Judge Deborah Boardman said the order, which targets children of foreign-government workers and people classified as “alien enemies,” was almost certainly unconstitutional. The ruling came after the Supreme Court rejected an earlier effort by the administration.
