Michigan and UConn set for national title rematch in Boston
The No. 16 University of Michigan men's basketball team will face No. 4 UConn on Friday, November 6, in a rematch of the 2026 NCAA championship game. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. at TD Garden in Boston, with the contest televised nationally on TNT and truTV.
The Wolverines defeated the Huskies 69-63 in the April national title game, securing Michigan's second NCAA championship and its first since 1989. This marks the 11th time since 1996 that the previous season's national finalists have met again the following season, with defending champions winning six of the last 10 such rematches.
Michigan enters the matchup with a 1-0 record after an 84-68 victory over Oakland on Monday, while UConn is also 1-0. The Huskies return guards Silas Demary Jr. And Braylon Mullins from last season's runner-up team, while Michigan has retained seven players from its championship roster.
