Michigan trek to raise food pantry support across eight counties

A northern Michigan man plans to travel by bicycle and kayak across eight counties to raise money for local food pantries. Frank Krajenka will cycle from Manistee to Grayling, then paddle 130 miles along the Au Sable River.

Krajenka has created separate online fundraising pages for a food pantry in each county along the route and in his home county. The solo expedition is set to begin Sept. 5 from a lakeside access point in Manistee, with a GPS tracker and website planned to help supporters follow the journey.
