Nigerian opposition party presses government over rising food costs
Nigeria’s African Democratic Congress criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration after headline inflation moderated from 15.91% in June to 15.43% in July, according to figures cited from the National Bureau of Statistics.
The party said food inflation rose from 17.52% to 20.31% year over year and from 3.75% to 5.56% month over month. It called for measures to lower farm and transport costs, improve security and create food reserves to make staples more affordable.
