Poll gives El-Sayed a five-point lead in Eaton County

A Suffolk University poll of Eaton County voters found Abdul El-Sayed leading Mike Rogers, 46% to 41%, in the Michigan race. Eaton County has historically leaned Republican but has become more competitive in recent years.

Rogers represented the Lansing-area congressional district that included most of Eaton County for 15 years. The poll also found El-Sayed leading Rogers statewide, 47% to 40%.

Eaton County is almost entirely within Michigan’s 7th Congressional District, where Democrat William Lawrence is challenging Republican Rep. Tom Barrett. Suffolk did not poll that House race.
